Palm sugar is used as a sweetener by consumers and by the food industry.
Palm sugar is obtained from various sources such as palmyra, palm trees and coconuts. It has higher nutrients than other sugars, especially calcium, phosphorus, iron and other minerals. All the nutrients from plants in white sugar were lost in the refining process, so in addition to the sweet, white sugar has no nutrients.
Meanwhile, the process of palm sugar processing is done by manual methods, without the use of chemicals and artificial ingredients. Therefore, it can be considered a natural sweetener and good for health.
In general, palm sugar is produced by boiling the collected sap until it thickens. The boiled sap can be sold as palm syrup, which is typically sold in bottles or tins and tends to thicken and crystallize over time. The boiled sap can also be solidified and sold in the form of bricks or cakes. Alternatively, the cakes or bricks can be further processed into granulated sugar.
